Tap dance involves the use of shoes with metal plates attached to the soles. Tap is unique in its ability to translate the sound of rhythm through a mechanical and almost mathematical series of isolations in the feet --toe tapping, digging, sliding, cramp rolling, and more. At CKDS, many of the early-learner combination classes incorporate tap because it teaches rhythm and musicality in such a delightful way. As dancers advance into higher level classes become more detailed, and tap combinations become more intricate and complex.
