BALLET is the foundation of almost all dance forms, and is firmly rooted in tradition. We are proud to hold a comprehensive, and challenging curriculum at CKDS. Ballet at CKDS should be taken in conjunction with other classes, as it translates across genres in the essential elements, such as alignment, turnout, balance, flexibility, and strength. We offer combination classes and pre-ballet all the way up through advanced pointe and adult classes. Ballet students begin by learning ballet positions, movement, vocabulary, and barre work through a series of repetitive exercises. By the time students have reached a level 3 or 4, and depending on ankle/foot development and turnout, they may advance to center work and may begin pre-pointe work with approval from the instructor.
